Morning Arrival
- All students dropped off by a parent must be dropped off at the side parking lot. The back parking lot is for BUSES ONLY!
- The traffic patterns are ONE WAY. In the mornings, the traffic flow moves up Folger St. from Conroy (at the Walker Intermediate School crosswalk). Until 8:35 a.m. you cannot go out the parking lot entrance and back down Folger to Conroy.
- Please do not drop students off outside of the drop off area.
- If you want to walk your child inside, please park in the parking lot across from the cafeteria and walk them across the crosswalk by the cafeteria doors.
Late Arrivals
Students who arrive to school after the regular starting time of 8:30 must have their parents sign them in at the office.
Dismissal
Parents who are picking up their students in grades K-3 should park in designated parking spaces in the side parking lot next to the cafeteria, enter through the cafeteria doors, and wait at the assigned table for their child’s class. (Teacher names will be displayed along the wall next to the table.) Teachers will dismiss students to their parent or designated adult. Please be prepared to show a government issued ID when picking up your child. If you wish for an older Van Voorhis student to meet at a younger students table please share that information with your child’s teacher.
PRE-K students
- All Pre-K students are “hand to hand” drop off and pick up by an adult only.
- Pre-K “AM” Students dropped off via the front circle where a staff member will accompany students to the classroom.
- Pre-K “AM” Pick up- Student pick up is at the front circle if not riding the bus.
- Pre-K “PM” Drop off- Student drop off is at the front circle beginning at 12pm.
- Pre-K “PM” Pick-up”- Pick up front circle (car rider) or (gym) walking with parent/guardian.
Pathway leading to Van Voorhis
The pathway leading to Van Voorhis has been deemed useable by post officials. However, this property is not part of school grounds and is not maintained or staffed by school personnel at any time. Conroy remains the recommended route for students walking or bicycling to and from the school.
